Pardon my lack of understanding, but I am relatively new to Exchange and how it works. Is there a good 'dummies' book for this?
Here's the problem:
Scenario: Running SBS 2000 with Exchange - no ISA. Using Pop2Exchange to retrieve mail from 3rd party web server.
Three users receive email from three POP accounts. All are set up the same, and they ~were~ all working fine. Then one day, "account c" stopped working. The mail is being retrieved from the web server, but it isn't being delivered to the user's inbox.
I've ruled out mailbox size limit, incorrect POP2Exchange settings, missing email address in AD user settings, and I've not found any duplicate proxy addresses in exchange (yet I am getting a 9514 eventid).
What could cause email not to be delivered to a specific user who is set up exactly the same as the other two in AD and in Pop2Exchange?
NOTE: I have completely removed and re-added this user from AD, and still the same problem. I can set up new users, new Pop connectors and mail is successfully routed. "Account C" can obtain email from other exchange users, but not from outside.
Can anyone point me to some possibilities? I'm pulling my hair (what's left of it) out! Thanks in advance. If I'm not clear enough on any particular detail, let me know and I'll do my best to work it out.
