Group Hunt.... timer too short??

Having a brain fart today. I'm putting in a Group Hunt list (GHT) of 10 members. That part I have in place. Problem is if I leave CFN1 4 it disconnects half way through the hunt goup. If I change CFN1 to 2, it makes it through all the members, but two rings is too short. How can I leave it at 4 but allow enough time for it to reach each of the members (if unanswered). There has to be a timer somewhere, just not sure which one.

Look at your RCO setting on each phone, and the corresponding CFN setting in your CDB.

In other words, in one of my switches...

CFN0 4
CFN1 2
CFN2 6

Most phones here are set to RCO 0 - they'll ring 4 times before hunting. If I change RCO to 1 - it'll ring 2 times, RCO 2 - 6 times. These are configurable.

Also, if you're disconnecting halfway through your hunt group, the hunt chain is likely broken - double-check your HUNT/FDN settings each step of the way, and your CLS settings (HTA / FNA).

For example...

DN 2000 - HUNT 2001, FDN 2001, CLS HTA FNA
DN 2001 - HUNT 2002, FDN 2002, CLS HTA FNA
DN 2002 - HUNT 2003, FDN 2003, CLS HTA FNA
... etc... etc...

I changed RCO to 1 (CFN1 = 2) and it rings 2 times at each phone. When I use RCO 0 (CFN0 = 4) it rings 4 times at each, but only makes it halfway through the hunt chain. It is as if there is a timer set for RNA that is dropping call after abou 30 seconds. Looking for where that timer or parameter is

I think that your provider sends the disconnect. In Europe the providers disconnect after 90 sec and no-answer

Chris

If the provider is disconnecting after 90 seconds, then ditch the hunt group and program MCR keys instead.

Thanks Chris. I was afraid of something like that. It's actually dropping shorter than 90 seconds, but it could be the carrier has a lower threshold set. I just wanted to make sure I was missing something on my end. The next step is to convince these folks to do this another way.....

I would agree with ChrisJGP.

In Aust, if you are on a mobile phone call, the timeout by the carriers is generally about 45secs. Taking a bit of a guess, if your ring periodicity is about 4 secs, at 4 rings before forwarding its around 16sesc per extension, so no.... you would not get the full member list.

Would not a basic ACD with announcements not be better? Answers the call, stops carrier time outs, and distributes calls to those available.

Failing that, maybe a GHTD/A codes. But remember that you cannot see if these are invoked. That ends up with potential misuse.
