Greetings everyone,

I am working with a Mitel 3300 virtual/Physical 3300 icp system with SIP trunks with Multi-device licenses and we are using the MiCollab Client for Windows Desktop 7.2.1.10 with softphone for remote users.

My question is, is it possible to have a 3 way call from the softphone? If the client is set to deskphone, the trans/conf. button is available in the client. But once the client is set to use the softphone, the transf/conf. buttons do not show up.

Is this just a COS setting that I am missing, or is this feature not available in the Mitel Softphone client? It was available in our previous Avaya phone system so it would make since that it should be an option in the new Mitel system.

Thanks for your help,

Carl

Dont think conference is available from softphone , i think its in the help file somewhere

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

This will work but the softphone device need a 2nd line. Once you have programmed that you will need to clear the line monitor cashe for that user (or if you are programming alot you can do it for the whole PBX). Once this is done restart the client and you should get extra buttons on the in-call window that pops up :)

Please forgive my ignorance, but how do I add a second line to a softphone?

For a deskphone, I just add a Key with the Line type set to "Multicall" and the Button Dir. Number set to the ext. and the Ring Type set to Ring. But this will not work when I try to add it to the softphone.

Thanks for the help!

Carl

What software version are you running on your 3300?
THe way to do this is to add a Multicall line on the softphone device (usually UC Endpoint). Although you may have to try with Key System. Again this should be set to ring and should match the ext of the softphone device.

Thanks Tom, I will try that.

Here are the versions
MiVoiceBusiness installed OVA version 7.2.1.24
Mitel Standard Linux 10.3.38.0

Tom,

So I do have a "Conf/Trans" button now when I am on a call with the softphone, but it will only let me transfer. I do not get an option to join the two calls together in a conference.

Here are the steps I took and what I see:

On my softphone desktop client: I place a call to my cell and I answer the call on my cell
On the softphone I now see the button with an arrow pointing right. If I mouse over it, it says Trans/Conf
I press the Trans/Conf button and it gives me a window to enter a phone number to call with two buttons, Consult and Transfer
I enter a number and press Consult which brings up a second call box.
I answer the second call on my other phone.
In the second call box I only see the options for Hold, Complete Transfer, and End Call.

I have check the COS and conference is enabled. Am I missing something else?

Thanks again for the help!

V/R,

Carl

Actually its something I have told you I think....got a feeling if you are using the SIP Softphone (UC Endpoint) the conference will not work. You need to use the Minet softphone (5020 IP) and then you should get this functionality - sorry for the wrong info initially.

I did some more digging and I found the 3300 ICP feature matrix. It says that the "MiCollab Softphone/ UC Advanced(with Softphone)/Your Assistant Softphone" does have the conference feature.

I tried changing my Softphones Phone Type to 5020 IP. First having to delete the current teleworker for the softphone. Then changing the phone type to 5020 IP, then adding the teleworker back.
But the softphone will not connected afterword.

This is not going to be fun, trying explain that the functionality that we had in our old Avaya system is not available in our new system.
Is the conference feature just not part of a SIP device? Or is this just missing from the softphone in the Mitel software?

You can setup the internal meet me conference via speed call, transfer current caller, call another and transfer them, then join. This is the only way I have been able to do this via the UC endpoint
