I have an analog phone, ext 3363.
It has coverage path 10 on it, 5 rings then voicemail.

When our operator transfers an outside call to 3363, it rings 5 times then bounces back to the operator.

I switch the 5 rings to 4 or less and it work like it should, sending the outside call to 3363's voicemail.

How do I get this to work with 5 or more rings?

Try adding more time to the "Return call timeout" field on page of your console paramters screen.

hey hulk i see your doing well.........there should be somthing in the attendant fields that bring the call back after a set amount of rings

We're doing this stuff for the wealth and fame right?

sjs1717...you found me again!
our battle from before helped me, but I have only had limited time to work on this task.
I appreciated all your help last time.

hopefully we can get it this time!

jordy5535...how do I do that?
what commands do i need to use?

Change console parameters (or change system-paremeters console depending on your version). If the number of seconds shown will end up bein gless than your 5 rings, the call will revert back to your operator. Try adding 10 seconds and see what happens. If that is not enough add another 10 seconds and test.

jordy5535...THAT WAS IT!
thank you so much.

now how does that affect all my other extensions?

Anytime your switchboard transfers a call to any extension, if the coverage path involved takes longer than the number of seconds in your console parameters, the call will time-out and return to your switchboard.

so why not just set it to an extremely high number of seconds?
what's the down fall of adding seconds to this setting?

I have mine set at 90 seconds. If a transferred call isn't answered somewhere in 90 seconds the operator gets it back.
