Hi
Im am trying to set up Gamma trunks on an existing IPO 9.0 through a Draytek 2820, I have read a few previous posts for some pointers but not having much joy.. The IPO is on lan 1 due to TAPI being used, the Gamma trunks are across a BT broadband with a single static (say 81.149.x.x) and i have opened port 5060 to the IPO and pointed it to the local IPO address (say 192.168.x.x) and tried it with and without STUN, the settings on network topology are firewall: port restricted cone nat, binding time 300 and the public address is populared with the 81.149.x.x, udp port set to 5060, and sip trunks enabled in VOIP settings.
A new line 30 has been created and the ITSP domain name and proxy address configured with 81.149.x.x, URI type as SIP URI and call routing method to request URI, ARS with 9N and N"@81.149.x.x." and an I/C call route with 01753xxxxxx but cannot make I/C or O/G calls.
On an I/C call I am seeing info on Monitor but not on SSA and get silence on the calling handset.
Any help and pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You must open media ports for gamma,
I believe these are 6000-40000 UDP however RTP ports on IPO by default are 46750-50750 so adjust to suit - this is configured in LAN -> VOIP
Go to network Topology, delete the 0.0.0.0 in stun server so it's blank, put your public IP in the field and set UDP/TCP to 5060
To assist with SIP Line i'd need to know what version your IPO500 is as it has changed a bit between versions

You don't need to change RTP ports on IPO.
What the SIP provider uses and what IPO uses doesn't have to match.
What you need to make sure is that the SIP provider can reach the RTP ports that IPO is using.

Drayteks don't work very well when it comes to voice we have found.

We have yet to get one to fully work with an IP Office and Gamma. You might get it to work to start with, but you will have continuous issues. Never really found out why.

Every Gamma customer we have had with a Draytek has since changed it out for a different firewall or installed Gamma Assured. We have tried ALG and STUN with them. Although we do much prefer to use ALG than STUN, especially as Gamma don't supply a STUN server!!

We now refuse where ever possible to even attempt to install on a Draytek.

Really?
I have installed well over 100+ Avaya IPO's with Drayteks and Gamma Trunks and it works a treat, I agree never apply a stun server as we have had lots of kits using a stun server then the stun server goes down. Never used ALG either for IPO w/ Draytek.
I always thought this was a simply set up

Drayteks work when used as firewall, enabling ALG tells them to act as a SIP proxy and restricts the number of calls that can go through it.
If I need that I use a SBC.

Do you mind detailing what settings you use for Draytek setups?? We are yet to get a single work in an acceptable manor.

We can get them to make calls etc, but they are flakey as hell!

Turn off SIP ALG, forward the correct ports through the firewall to the IP address of the IPO. On the IPO - do not use a STUN IP address but do use Network Topology - so statically assign the public IP address in there, set firewall type to unknown or static port block and fill in the 5060 port numbers.

That is all I have ever had to do.

We’ve tried the same and never got a stable solution. Tried the above, STUN and ALG.

We even had Draytek support involved on the last one and it still got ripped out for Gamma Assured. It would work, but was never stable.

In these situations, it tends to be 28xx units, is this the same??

Was the same on the older 26xx.

Thanks for the info guys but Im still getting no joy, Ive attached some screenshots of my config, again any pointers would be appreciated..
Draytek ports opened are UDP 5060 and I also tried 6000-40000 towards the internal ip address of the IPO but made no difference
Monitor brings up this... where 07735552xxx is calling 01753379xxx on th IPO, system status on line 30 shows nothing

You need to set Network Topology on the SIP trunk, otherwise the settings in the LAN1 tab doesn't do much =)

Also you wouldn't forward the RTP ports the SIP provider are using, you forward the port the IP Office.

Thanks Janni78, to be fair I had this set to LAN1 earlier but it didnt work then so trial and error came into play (more error to be fair), I have set it again to LAN1 to no avail, also Ive forward the IPO RTP ports..

To confirm

You have created the Service Objects for the relevant ports and added an entry under Filter Setup-->Default data filter to allow traffic from your SIP SBC IP addresses (2 with Gamma) through the firewall.

Then under NAT-->Open Ports you have set Local Computer to the IP address of the IPO and added the SIP ports to this page - I have 3 entries on the one I have

TCP/UDP 5060-5061 = Signalling
UDP - 49152-53246 = RTP
UDP - 3478-3479 = STUN

I have checked and I do use STUN with our Drayteks. I use 146.101.248.221 as my STUN server (its from voiceflex and works perfectly). Also checked and my firewall rule also includes the 146. address as well.

Under Network Topology I therefore set it as

STUN Server Address - 146.101.248.221
STUN Port = 3478
Firewall/NAT Type = Full Cone NAT
Binding Refresh = 60
Public IP = whatever you are using
Public Port
UDP = 5060
TCP = 5060
TLS = 5061

Guys
A big thank you, all sorted [2thumbsup].. wrong ITSP proxy address..doh!![hourglass]

Thanks for the info guys, It works but I now seem to have a few issues with the trunk going out of service after a few days, I can recieve and make calls but it seems to go out of service overnight after 2-3 days, I can still ping the Gamma ip address from the IPO with the trunk OOS but cannot bring the trunk back into service unless I reboot the IPO, then it works again for a couple of days then back to square one..Any pointers would be great

Thanks
