I am adding a new G700 at a remote site. I already have 5 G700's with a 8300 there working fine.

I have entered all the settings correctly and yet it will still only register to the 8300 and not back at my CLAN card at main office. I have busied out, and reset the CLAN card and the other g700's come right back up. But yet that last one won't.

I have double checked the MGC list. I have the CLAN as the first and the 8300 as the 2nd. If I remove the 8300 from the list and only leave the CLAN is won't register to anything...

Any idea's?

can you ping the clan from the mgp

if you can ping the CLAN; if you reset the mgp and then do a list trace ras ip-address [LSPIPADDRESS] on the main server do you see it talking to the CLAN

Check your network-region on the media-gateway... Make sure it's set to talk to your main sites NR.

Thanks,
CJH

have you added the default gateway to g700:
(mgp XXX conf): set ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 <default gateway>

What connection do u have on your additional G700? are u using stacking cables? how about the network connection of the additional G700 on the network? do u use cross cable? can u ping the CLAN via P330 CLI? or MGP CLI?

Have u tried upgrading the firwares? Please note that if u cascade all the G700, be sure that all G700 firmwares are ALL THE SAME, especially in P330 to avoid firmware corruption.

Are u using the correct subnets? gateways? Routing?

when you configured the server did you check the right lsp mode?

Sorry I have been away for a while. Thanks for all the suggestions. Let me hit these one by one...

definityandcmuk: Yes I can ping the CLan from the new g700. I will try the reset and see if I can trace it.

98Converter: Yes NR is exactly the same as the other 5 g700's.

pabxdude: Yes default gateway is set.

uzumaki: I am using the stacking cable on the card you place on the back of the server. I will check firmware on the systems. Those could be different. Is that a HUGE deal?

macsnail: Where would I check the correct lsp mode?

The only thing I have not done since all the config's have been set is reset the 8300 here. I plan on doing that tonight right after a AT&T cut. Any other thoughts? I even tried changing the encrpt link like suggested in another thread. No help.

Thanks for all the suggestions...please add more as you think of them!!

Have you configured the MG correctly on the main site, check MG serial number

check your IP route on the MG too

If you think you not missed out anything , Try "Add Media-gateway n" and enter the serial number of your g700.

I think this may be more of a CLAN problem. I rebooted my stack of G700's last night and NONE of them registered with the CLAN. I had to reset, busy-out/release the CLAN card several times before I got my first 5 back on it. The 6th one (problem child) still won't register.

Might have to call Avaya on this one.

I have 3 on my system.. but only this one for the LSP. I do have another spare here...could I swap it out?

just change the MGC list to a different CLAN

Do a "list trace ras ip-address" and see if the gateway gets this far, you should see some activity

have you checked the Media Gateway config on the main server especially the Serial Number

have you checked the configure server screens, putting the correct LSP config in

What do you mean by the configure server screens?

Ignore that last post that would only refer to an LSP I forgot the issue was just a G700 not registering

do the serial numbers in "show system" on the MGP and media gateway on CM match up?

FIXED!!!

Unbelievable. Just crazy.

After all the time and late nights working on this thing...it was an IP issue.

The network guy had placed a switch on the network using the same IP as my MGP. But he had "response to ping" turned OFF so I thought I had grabbed a free static IP. Of course they don't have any master document with IP's in use.

I am so sorry to all and thank you so much for all the help.
