G650 gateway integration to IP office

Hi All,

I am a newbie to avaya pbx but just want to share this and need your assistance on this. I and my pre-sales staff had an argument about integrating the G650 media gateway to an ip office control unit. As he believes that it is possible to use IP office as a communication manager for the G650 media gateway. I never agreed to him as it is impossible to do that. Am I ryt?

He needs evidence as to why it won't work.
Please support me If I am right.

The G650 is a gateway for the communication manager and the IPO cannot be connected without a trunk between the IPO and a CM.
The IP500 is also available as B5800 which is a gateway too in that mode and then you still cannot connect a G650 to it.
To use the G650 you will need a CM period

He's wrong, there is no evidence. You can't integrate an Xbox 360 with the IP Office either and there is no document stating this fact...perhaps he would like to try that as it must work in the absence of evidence to the contrary

indeed the 650 is a dumb box of tin that needs an ipsi card(talk to cm server not ipo or B5800) a medpro board for dsp and a clan card for registration of h.323 handsets if not using procr from CM, your pre sales guy is talking complete and utter poo
