FTP manual and schedule backups fail only on 4.5 cse1000

Only the 4.5 switches constantly fail but the 5.0 and 5.5 are fine. Is there a problem on ftp backups with 4.5 ?

can your CS ping the CS at the remote side from 117? Network Techs have it allowed. Are the CS's on the same Subnet - need to be. (Elan)

what errors are you getting on the ftp server? is the account for ftp all ok? We usually see this kind of fail when the password is incrrect

the ftp server is pingable from sigserver..all cse1000e components are on same vlan. I can access the ftp folder from call pilot windows explorer so path and pass are fine. its just my nortel 4.5 boxes must have a code problem with opening session properly.Does anyone have access to Nortel knowledge base to search ..this problem must have a patch

I'm having the same issue and I think it's because the ELAN isn't routed out where the FTP server sits (by design). Guys I think what M1spezi is saying, is can you ping from ELAN. (there's no TLAN IP on a CS).

Issuing a ping from 117 tests from the ELAN side:
Pinging from the signaling server is from the TLAN side

ld 117

=> ping 10.35.10.18

PING 10.35.10.18 FAILED

=> ping 137.135.128.20

PING 137.135.128.20 SUCCESSFUL

if he is talking about a cs1000e, yes there is a Tlan. you shouldnt be able to ping the Tlan from 117. It has nothing to do with FTP

still have issue and the ftp server error log does show session open but file transfer fails..there must be a patch...

I am having the same issue on CS1Ke 5.5 whereas its failing when I do ftp backup. All login details to ftp server works.
Also I get an error

You have to create new Rout (Gateway IP Address)in LD 117 if you dont have.

Can you post your rout in LD 117 and ping the FTP IP address also. Try to check the FTP connection
