Hello everyone,

My company recently changed premises, and they purchased a Mitel 3300 Release Level 4.2 SP1, Software load 10.2.1.13, Plataform MXe-III for the new building.

Users, mailboxes, etc all set up. But I am suffering with the Auto Attendant.

I am trying to setup the Multi-Line Auto Attendant, but I could not find any information in how to send the calls received by the main number (prefix+4500, not a user, not a extension, not a hunt group) to the main menu node (VM Mailbox 1) in the auto attendant.

If I setup a System Speed Call from 4500 to any extension (i.e. 4510, which is a User with a phone device) it forwards the calls perfectly to the human user. But if I change the extension to 1 (which should be the auto attendant VM mailbox), it does not work.

What am I doing wrong? What am I missing?

I believe it is something simple, but I could not find any details inside the Mitel system's help yet.

I count on you guys :)

Thank you for reading,
RG

Mailbox 1 would have an extension (I recommend 4500 based on your post)
Create a Hunt group 4500 and route on always condition to VM

You will not have access to Dial by name or Dial by Extension when using a menu node.

I don't know if I got your advice correctly, but for what I understood and tried, it did not work.

What I would expect is this:

1st - Someone externally call the main line XXX-XXXX4500.
(This 4500 is the main line, and it is not addressing to any user in the system.)
2nd - This call goes straight to the Main VM Mailbox, with the message "Welcome to our company, press 1 to sales, 2 to accountancy, bla bla bla..."

I know how to create and setup the VM mailbox as menu node, the greeting, etc. but so far I could not find a way to make the calls to XXX-XXXX4500 to be sent to the VM Mailbox 1 (which by the Mitel help in the system, should be my main Auto attendant voicemail)

I have:
VM Mailbox 1 (as menu node)
VM Multi Level Auto Attendant with the option 1 of the Mailbox 1 pointing to extension 4510, and option 2 pointing to extension 4520

To be honest, I don't know what Forms I should be using right now. Is there a Mitel edoc that explains it from the scratch?

What else I need to setup to the calls to the 4500 main line to go to Auto attendant? :(

Thank you all...

You need to associate the DN 4500 with the mailbox to get it to answer

Simplest method is to create hunt group numbered 4500
Then route hunt group to vm on always condition
Mlaa mb 4500 answers call

In your case mb 1 would have extension 4500 programmed

Thank you very much, it did work!

One thing though: the phones that the auto-attendant transfer the call to them are only ringing twice, then the call goes to their voicemail. Can I change this ring to be at least 4 (or more)?

Many thanks again!
R.

You may want to check if the supervised transfer method is turned on.

It can be modified from the admin mailbox, or one of the Mailbox Options forms (I think)
