Does any one know of a good software based sip phone that will work with an IPO running R5 that is freeware?

I would say go for 3CX, it works great as I and others had problems with Xlite Not sure if it is supported though

I downloaded 3cx while waiting for a response lol, i will test them both out see which one gives me the least trouble.

3cx is much easier, however i am unclear what info should go into the ID and password fields?

id is the extn number, password is the login code. if i remember correctly, it was a while ago

Extension and ID I use the authentication for my SIP line the password is the password, maybe there is an option in some SIP lines to use different extensions with the same ID but I had to use the same value for both.
Not as an extension on an R5 IPO though

Tom is correct, that's what I have and it works, even from outside if you set up port forwarding from an external address

I use SJPhone, works also on a PDA or SmartPhone.

can't seem to get a transfer working on any sip phone, software or desk phone. is this a bug or has anyone got it working?

i have only tried 3cx and the xlite one. neither worked no matter what i tried, not sure how to read the logs either. All i see when i enable the logging on the 3cx is "internal server error".

Using 3CX I can transfer fine both Blind and Assisted, using the Transfer Button, bottom right of client 3CX.

With X-Lite you need to upgrade to eyebeam 1.5 from what I can see, as the transfer feature is not active in XLite.

Am I missing something here ?

Just tested Express Talk, Has Transfer feature that seems to work fine.

Full Display Name : Username or other
Server : IP Address of IP Office
SIP Number : 250 (IP Office Extension Number)
Password : IPO Login Password
Advanced Line Settings
Authentication User Name
Use Different username just for authentication
Auth ID : IPO Username

which version of 3cx are you running?

im running 3.1.6288.0 and the transfer action is top left next to the hold button, when i click it, it holds line1 opens line 2 and allows me to dial, when i click transfer again to complete it disconnects the second call and i get an internal server error message.

Maybe you have a later release?

same here Tom and I get server failure when I try to transfer. I checked and there is a new version out 3.1.8571 I installed it and it happens with that too
