For each word you get right, they donate 10 grains fo rice through the United Nations to end world hunger.

And it's fun too :)

I hope everyone plays a little every day.

A word I didn't know, to share:

hachure - map shading line.

My vocabulary breaks down at about level 47. Before that, I got all words. After that, I can puzzle out about 1/2 and the rest I just plain don't know. So this web site is good for building vocabulary, too.

I'm a 39...

I think I'm a 35ish on that thing. It's fun and challenging.
I'm assuming you just keep going until you just want to quit.

I got 200!!! Oh wait...that was the grain count. [tongue]
I'm a 35ish also.

Oh... hey... this isn't MAI. [blush]

After resetting, I did miss a word at level 42. Then it settled around 45. 47 was evidently a fluke.

(Gay pareee is elsewhere right now, and that suits me just fine for now)

I scored 39. I got stuck on diadem. I tried using it in a sentence such as:

Mother: "What happened to the cookies?!?"
Son: "Diadem!"

Thank Jeff Foxworthy for the influence.

As a 3rd language English-speaker, I'm pretty pleased with my 41-score...

p5

Most of my correct answers at 35+ were based on knowledge of the words' roots or on similiar words in other languages, so I'm not surprised someone with a better knowledge of various languages did well on it. There was only a handful of words that I've ever heard in normal speech; the rest are somewhat to completely unused. Fun to figure out though.

I just got a network error when i was on 38 :(

I'm crazy or something. This IS MAI!

Word roots definitely come into play for staying at level 44/45.

diadem = crown

Ahh, that's one I'd actually know right away! [smile]

"bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all."
That's from "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name", also known as "The Coronation Hymn"

A handful of those words I was able to know from sources such as that.
