I am looking for a chart that list how much free memory is needed to upgrade to a particular version. I know the PCS number is what avaya goes by, but I just inherited a system that I don't trust. I'm not sure that the motherboard is in the correct box and the PCS number is actually correct. I would like to find a way to actually confirm that the upgrade will work. I was hoping the I could run a monitor trace and check the free memory that was available. Thoughts from anyone?

The only memory concerns are on 406v2 control units. When you open system monitor, look for the "FREEMEM=" in the first few lines, and if it starts with 4xxxxxxx then you have enough memory to go all the way to version 6. If it's in the 1xxxxxxx range then it's an earlier version without enough memory to upgrade past 3.2.
IP403, IP406v1 cannot go past 3.2 regardless of memory, IP412 can go up to 6.0, and of course the IP500 can go up to 6.0 as well.

This is a 406v2. Are those the only two options that the free memory will give (1XXXXXXXX or 4XXXXXXXX)? Thank you very much!!

If it is 7 digits then no go and if it is 8 digits then you can upgrade it to 4.x or higher.
