Working with a Norstar MICS 6.1. Would like to hard code forward inbound calls to a specific DID back out to a cell phone by redirecting the call internally without a phone attached. Seem to remember doing something similar with two MICS tied together so I applied the same logic using destination code and routing, but it doesn't work. Does anyone have any thoughts? Is this even possible?

Only way I ever made it work was by setting up a ccr tree and assigning Path to do an external transfer to cell phone #.I tried to set a temporary phone in the closet and assign DID to set and then do a redirect to cell phone and then unplugged phone but it went back to no set assigned after a brief time.

Thanks "fonegal". The CCR tree is a really good idea. Trying to avoid the extra hop as well as the phone in the closet. I realize the MICS isn't a complex system, but I'm hoping it can do the redirect without the CCR transition or phone set. Your input is definitely appreciated and those options may be the only ones I have.

If I remember I think I was able to do it this way a while back you can try it and let us know.

Build a new Route and put the number you want to go to as the DIAL OUT number.
Build a Taarget Line and don't assign it to anyone.
Use the DNIS digits of that target Line as a Desti Code and point it to the route you built.

Good luck.

Hi, "hawks". Tried your suggestion, but the system won't let me assign a destination code that has matching digits for a target line. Need a little clarification on the dial out number. I've selected PRI-A for the pool since there is only one PRI. So the calls are coming in, for example, on channel 1 and going out on channel 23. Thinking, since I've told it to use PRI-A that I only need to put 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX for the dial out number (cell is LD and dashes for emphasis, not included in programming) with no "9" in front. When I don't do the target line, I can program the desti code with those digits received. Isn't making sense. Wondering if it might be the 6.1 version installed.

Thoughts??

Have you tried Line Redirect?

Plug a phone into spare port, assign the target Line to it as Appear and Ring, F84, choose Target Line, choose Intercom 9 (if you dial 9 out) and desired cell number.
test, then test again when set is unplugged.

Remove the RCVD Digits on the target line and then create the destination code and route point as described earlier. Make sure you assign a remote package to all the lines, by default they're assigned 00. Use remote package 05 and then assign access to PRI-A (or whatever your trunk block is using).

Works like a charm..

Another option would be to ask your telco to forward it to the Cell #. That way you are not tying up 2 lines every time it is used.

dbrewsky has it, i did not need the target line
curlycord's should also work i forgot about line redirect

Between all these posts, we got it to work. The remote package was the key. Thanks, "DBrewsky"!!!!!!!
So it's destination code, route, remote package. Put them all together and we're golden!!!
