Flash Msg lamp to ON in 5402

Hi,

I am having problems with the flash message lamp in 5402. I don´t have any problems with 5410 and 5420 just 5402.

How can I set the Flash Msg lamp to ON in 5402 Digital phone?

Any advices. Tks.

Or do you mean a flashing light when the phone rings?
This can be done from the menu.

Yes, I mean flashing light when the phone rings. In 5410 and 5420 I do it in the phone menu. ring options. But in 5402, how I do that?

It should flash by default:

2.10 Messages
MESSAGES is used to access the voicemail system (if installed). Once pressed, the prompts given will depend on the
type of voicemail system. For further details, refer to the Mailbox User Guides provided for the different voicemail
systems supported by IP Office.
The message lamp at the top of the phone stays lit when there are new messages in your mailbox or in any other
mailbox for which you have been configured to receive "Message Waiting Indication".
Note
· The lamp also flashes when the phone rings, irrespective of whether you have new messages waiting to be read.

I supouse is by default, but it doesn´t. The light is off when the phone rings. I leave a voice mail and the lamp is ok.

The phone firmware is 2.0RP2 fron 4/17/07.

Yesterday I upgraded the phone firmware of the phones thinking that the firmware coud solve the problem. Unfortunetely the only model that upgrade it´s firware was 5420. I read that there is a restriction in 5410 model to be upgraded acording to tech bull 91.

Possibly, but more than likely a dodgy handset or a poor refurb or something like that
