Currently I’ve got a CS1000s SSC running 4.5 in an Option 11 cabinet. The cabinet is in pretty poor shape and I’d like to move the cards to NTDU08, NTDU14, and NTDU15 rack mount cabinets. Problem is, I don’t have the media gateway/expansion SSC’s and dongles to do Ethernet expansion.

I do have an NTDK84AA fiber expansion daugheetbaord from a release 25 SSC, and a fiber receiver card. Will 4.5 on an NT20DKJA SSC support fiber expansion? It looks like I can physically plug the board in, but whether or not the software supports it is a whole other deal.

SSC and fiber technology matches in cabinet architecture too.
Fiber cards can not set in expansion moduls.

you should be ok, the main advantage of having the SSC's in the additional cabs was that it gave you survivability & you was able to deploy them over a larger geographical area

but a NTDU14 connects to a NTDU15 via the cables on the back (DS30x & CEmux)
