I upgrade to 2.1.27 from 2.1.14 and now my Dell server wont see the Feature Key Dongle. It works in my laptop but when I connect it back to the dell server it doesn't see it (i.e. the icon does not turn solid red). I have rebooted the server, and have re-installed the feature key software. the light is "on" on the dongle.

any thoughts.

I only have two hours without a feature key. HELP!!!!

Make sure the "Key Server" service is running in your services console.

If it is not, click on "Start" to get it running. Then make sure it is set to "Automatic" startup.

Cheers!!

The Kerver Service is running. I have stopped and restarted seraval times.

It is set to auto

What happens when you right-click on the icon and click the About?

Cheers!

I have also noticed that Windows update finds the USB Dongle sometimes and reccomends the updated from Sentinel (SafeNET)

Some machines, we have updated the device driver for it and have not seen any problems.

If anybody has ran into issues with that, let us all know.

Cheers!!

Do you get an errors on startup of Windows?

like a sisbase.dll error?

Let me know...

The windows update fixed it.

Thanks so much, back up in the nick of time.

CJ is the IPO MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS....you would think Avaya would have this kinda stuff in the docs.

Main reason why I love this forum

Here's the deal, when you upgrade, you need to either remove the dongle until the new software is installed, or go into the Hardware Manager (in Windows) and disable the Rainbow Dongle until after the upgrade.

As long as the computer sees the dongle plugged in, it keeps the driver installed & active, so the reinstallation of software can't overwrite the driver (which should have been removed during the REMOVE of old software, but was in use).

Hope this helps...
