Successfully using UDP/AAR to route 600+ dedicated fax DIDs from multiple CM4 locations to a central RightFax server. Am experimenting with off-loading some of the inbound fax traffic to users' Modular Messaging mailboxes. Once again, successfully doing this using MM 'Secondary Extension' and setting up additional CM stations for fax DIDs. However, this method depletes station RTU quickly. Can routing of fax DIDs to MM be accomplished via UDP/AAR to help preserve RTU? So far I can get the DIDs routed to MM but instead of going to correct users mailbox I always get generic "Welcome...please enter mailbox...". I'm thinking this is more of a CM issue more than MM related. Thoughts?

you could also try using "virtual" stations, which basiclly just give you a coverage path, they don't use RTU.

You can also use "incomming call-handling trunk-group x" (where x is the ISDN PRI / H323 trunk group the calls arrive on), you would then delete the digits of the extension you want, and substitute the extension you want to map it to. This will only work for "outside" calls, not internal calls however.

Also, you didn't mention what version of CM you have, so perhaps you don't have virtual stations, hard to tell from what you posted.

Mitch,

Thanks. We are CM4 and wasn't aware Virtual stations didn't use RTU. I was actually setting them up as Virtual thinking they did.

You can verify they don't by doing a "Display Capacity", page 9 has "Station RTU", exit then add a virtual station, then look again, the # in use will be unchanged :)
