I have GFI Faxmaker Pro server software. I'm wanting to assign DID fax lines to several users, then forward or route those lines to the main modem. Will the IPO do DID to DTMF handoff(hand the DID info off to identify who it was intended for)?

This is taken directly from the Network Alchemy FAQ Section:

Question:

How can I configure DDI to DTMF for use with fax servers?

Answer:

Individuals or departments can now have their own fax number. We pass the information to the fax server, which could only have one or two lines, as DTMF tones which identify the individual.

Configuration Example:

The Fax modem is on extension 216, set this extension for Caller Display Type = DTMFB. Configure a HuntGroup extension 500 with 216 as a member. Now Configure a User Fax501 on extension 501 and set Forwarding Unconditional to 500. Finally set an incoming call route of a personal fax number of 699001 to 501.

Repeat for 502 etc...

I looked at the settings for the caller display, but was unable to locate the setting for the DTMFB. Could you identify the location?

Look in Extension configuration and then choose the pulldown menu on Caller Display Type

I use this method:
Incoming call route:
did any short code
222 *222

Shortcode telephone# Function
*222 199D222 DailExtn

199 is hunt group of fax ports, when one answers the IP Office then dials 222 which is the origianl did #

if you replace the 199D222 with 199D. you should get the ddi digits sent by the network provider
this means that you can point a range of DDI's to 1 short code
