I have a MICS 6.1 with a Services Cartridge, Combo card, and 2 T1 cards on the KSU, plus a trunk mod with 2 analog line cards, an extra station mod, and an analog station mod. I am having problems with dropped faxes recently on 3 different machines, all connected to the same ASM.

We didn't make any changes, just all of a sudden we were having problems... we don't have any other issues with the switch.

I'm thinking maybe we're having clock issues... does this make sense? Could I possibly test this hunch by swapping the clock source to the other T1 card?

Thanks in advance for the help.

So I switched the primary/secondary clocking source from one T1 card to the other and that didn't seem to help. I'm going to try to disable one of the cards at a time and see if a bad card is the issue.

if you were experiencing a clocking/t1 issue it would also show in logs and would affect all calls on span..can u send a fax from machine...can us send a fax from 1 dn to other ?

Faxing seems to work okay from 1 DN to another.

I checked the logs and I'm getting errors 323, 325 and 330, but the timing of the errors (roughly one of these every other day) doesn't seem to coincide with the fax problems. The fax problems happen about 25% of the time (about 5-10x per day). My telco tells me the circuits test clean... are they lying to me?

1. if you had a tberd you could tell..they are not the most truthful bunch
2. reboot the asm"only the module" not ksu
3. if still issue rebboot whole system
4. if still issue
goto 1

Okay I'll give that a shot. My telco is a bunch of tools for the most part and they told me there was no problem one day when I had no service and their own repair # didn't work.....
