Hi,

Is it possible to restore One-X Portal to default settings?
Avaya Application Server 7.0(16)

I've got a corrupt database on a remote system and am trying to avoid a full reinstall.

In the manual there is mention of a 'restore' script, but I can't
locate it on the server...

Login in to the webcontrol web page and deinstall 1XP from there.
Then install it again and go trough the installation.
This will take about 20 minutes including starting the service.

For the next time a tip

Install 1XP and make a backup.
Then when you have problems you can put back the backup and you have a clean install within a couple of minutes.

Thanks,

There was no backup available.
Plain stupidity, i know...

I always make one in case of stupidity or other causes :)
1XP is easy and quick with setup.
Linux is even much more quicker then on Windows although lately i did one on Windows and that one was very quick too.

I had one case where we switched from windows one-x to
ESXi with Linux application server.

This was on the same machine and the linux version ran far more smoothly even though it was virtual..

I know, it is less heavy.
But why that is, i have no idea.

This is often the case
I believe it is because the Linux environment is more efficient as demonstrated by its ability to run acceptably on hardware that Windoze will not even look at.

it is also often possible to improve the performance of Windoze applications buy running them under Wine on a Linux box - says it all really

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

peter used to be a collegue of me and we had a saying:
If it ain't broke ask Peter to look at it...

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

Indeed, i can brake anything without touching it.
And when i tough it then it will be broken for sure :)

Two days ago i was at a customer and suddenly the DSL with SIP trunks where gone :)
This was the second time that it happened and the second time i was there.
Lucky me that it was both times a provider issue but you will get the point now :)
