I work in a loud and wet plant environment. We use 6408D+ model digital phones in our work area, but the ringer is not loud enough to be heard. Plus when NEMA cabinet door is closed it can't be heard even when standing next to the box. We recently purchased a phone ringer (Wheelock UTA-1) in hopes of using it with our digital phone system. When it was installed we were told by the contractor doing the work that it wouldn't work with our phone system due to the constant line voltage, evidently to trigger the ringer it requires an analog signal with a voltage spike.
So we wired a new analog line to the ringer and gave it an extension. We can make the loud ringer box ring correctly when we dial it's new analog extension. But the operators in that area need a digital phone with the message waiting LED and buttons for quick dialing. At this point I'm beyond my technical capability so have contacted our 3rd part telephony support. They say that they can create a bridged call appearance but only if both extensions are analog or both are digital. They are unable to come up with any other options that will trigger the loud ringer on the analog extension when the primary digital extension is dialed. Can anyone provide some direction or recommendations on how to achieve this?
