Hey All,
One of my techs has handed me a head scratcher.
System is an MICS 6.1 with a bunch of copper lines.
They just got a PRI T1 and they are using it for DID and outbound use at the moment. They plan to port their numbers over at a later date.

Here's the question:
On an external auto dial key, can you change what line/pool it uses to make teh call?

When you press it now, it is grabbing a line from the copper pool(7) instead of the T1(9).

Any thoughts on why this would do this?

Thanks,
Rob

With a PRI there is no pool used it rather should be using routing and destination codes. you will be using a 9 for calls out on the PRI. Keep the 7 pool for emergency outgoing also if you want to but you do not need to use a pool button to effectively dial a 9 for you, just dial the nine yourself.

I had one customer that insisted that they had a line pool so I just programmed a button with "9" works fine.

That are using routing now.
When you program that button, was it an internal auto dial? My tech tried it, but he said it still grabbed the copper lines. I didn't think to ask if he was using an external auto dial key.

Program it with feature * 1 (external autodial) as a 9.

It worked on my switch at the office. I guess he didn't have all the routes and destination codes built properly yet.
