I have a user in UK whose phone extension is still functioning ext 725, but it's not working internally set to set calling. I look in Active Set DN's and it's not even there?? I'm just starting out familiarizing myself here with BCM as I have acquired the UK systems admin. Is there any way to do a retreive all, or figure out why this is no longer showing?

Thank you

Try unplugging the set and plugging it back in and see what happens. If no change try rebooting (not restarting)the system.

Look in the unused set DN. if it's there the phone has been moved and is not connected to the right DN. Do a F*0 and hit the DN key to see what DN it is.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

I did the set unplug first thing and it's still not recognized.

Reboot, not restart? Can this be done from BCM management console remotely? I'm in the states. They're in UK. I should also wait until their day is complete off hours before I do the reboot correct?

Thank you for your help

Yes you can reboot remotley though the Maintence program, but I would have someone do the F*0 first as I had one site that every other day people where moving there own phones as all port's where connected and they would go by the label on the phone as the DN but when they moved it it took the DN of the port they plugged it into.

Ok, having her try it now.

Appreciate the assistance.

The F*0 can be used to look at every Button on the phone to see if what is programmed is the same as the paper label on the phone.

Ext 725 is in inactive DN's. How can I move it back to Active?

We need an answer to ace's question b4 you do anything.

Yes, I had the attendant perform an F*0. She was then prompted to "press a key". It didn't do anything. She is still not able to receive calls and is still inactive.

She was then prompted to "press a key"

Did she press the DN key to see what it said?, they can also call another phone with a display to see the DN.

Most people look at the label on a phone and think that is the DN, but if the phone has been without moving the crossconnect's and the phone is working as this phone seems to be, then do the F*0 then DN KEY.

If told her to press a key, then set is working, so she should press INTERCOM.

What will the Intercom do? When other attendants in the office ring her, it says "not in service

ace and I are 95% sure this suspect telephone is not x725, and you have yet to find out what DN it is. Whenever you get around to following the last 7 posts, we will have an answer for you.

They are trying to call a number that is not in service. You use the phone that you can't call to call a phone that has a display on it so you can see what the DN of the phone your calling from is.

Maybe your confused about what I'm asking you to do, let me start over.

Go to the phone that you think is 725 and you can't call.
Hit F*0 and DN/Intercom and what does the display say?

DN 725 is in the unused Set DN's because it is not plugged in, probally because someone has moved the phone to anothe wall jack that is active by with a different DN.

If you read all my post's and think about what I have said, you might get the picture.

Yes, gents you are correct. Here is her reply.
............................
It says 728 kimber (which im sure is short for Kimberley, a colleague) view with an arrow --> kind of like that.

I dont have dn/intercom I just have 'intercom'
.............................

This user hasn't moved from her desk since hire. Nobody's taken her phone, yet somebody else's extension is on it. How can I do the reboot of the system for them?

Thank you

A DN and Intercom are the same thing, I think we have a Terminology problem.

So if they want to call that phone, they need to call 728 instead of 725. someone one moveed the phone or swapped phone's with another phone.
