Hi,
we have IP Office 500 with 6 free ports for new extensions. We have 6 new handsets (5410) and these all work fine when I connect to IP Office directly.

Problem is we want to use these in a different office and only have 2 cat5 cable through to that office.

Can I purchase a normal POE network switch and uplink that to the Avaya? Then just connect my new handsets to that POE switch?

Pointers would be much appreciated.

thanks.

thanks all for your help. Going to run them over the pairs of cat5. Does anyone know (I'm not at site to check) if the 5410 needs 2 or 4 wires? The cable that comes with them has 4 wires but read elsewhere only 2 are needed?
