I realy hope some has an answer or can push me in the right direction.

We have a single SBS2003 machine which has been running OK. For no apparent reason the exchange server seams to have stopped working. If I an in the office and launch Outlook 2003. Outlook launches fine. But as outlook tryes to connect to the exchange server nothing happens. Then I get an error message saying that Outlook is trying to connect connect to " server01.Mydomain.local" but this times out. After a few mins I also get the error message "0x80040115 The connection to the exchage server is unavalable"

As an added bonus!!! I am leaving the company shortly and I beleve that one one the directotors may have been playing around on the server trying to set up some sort of security. But they all tell me this is incorrect. Could this have some thing to do with my problem?

From outside the office if I try and access OWA the logon screen appears with no problems. But when you try and log in nothing happens, no error messages.

I could realy do with a little help hear as when I leave I do not want this shadow hanging over me.

Many thanks.

Hi Craig,

We have the same setup. I've had this happen and for us, it's usually the DHCP service that has stopped. Check all your services to make sure the necessary ones are running.

Last resort, you could reboot the server.

Hope this helps

I tryed a restart this morning and that did not work. All the services that need to be running seem to be running.

Thanks anyway.

PHV

I have just checked the Event log, again, and there seems to be a problem with the DNS server.
When the system was first installed I took one of the disks out of the Array and replaced it with another.
This may be a little over kill but if all else fails I will remove both Raid drives from the server and then insert the old one. Reboot and then I will be back to a point in time some 6 months ago. The Exchange componant is loaded onto a separate array with all the user data and sharepoint server.

I would Appreciate your input on this.

Thanks
