Hi all,

New to these forums and have a question. This is a copy of the BEXxxx.txt log.

Media Name: "Media created 2/11/2004 11:32:07 PM"
Backup of "\\<server name>\Microsoft Exchange Directory "
Backup set #6 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "<server name>"
Backup Type: FULL - Database & Logs (flush committed logs)
Backup started on 2/12/2004 at 12:10:01 AM.
The Exchange Store service is not responding. Backup set canceled.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Backup completed on 2/12/2004 at 12:10:07 AM.
Backed up 0 Exchange Server store(s)
Processed 0 bytes in 6 seconds.
Throughput rate: 0.0 MB/min

Now this particular server is my mailbox server (bridgehead, owa, public folders and antivirus are all elsewhere) and Veritas has not reported this error until last night. Everything seems to be working fine and all appropriate services seem to be running. I can't really find anything at the Veritas or Technet sites so I thought I would try here.

I appreciate anyone who can help out. Thanks in advance.

Felix

Just in case it wasn't interesting enough before, last night's backup ran without any problems. I did absolutely nothing to modify the job or the settings anywhere. Hmmm, wait, while I was writing this, it reminded me of the fact that I DID have to clear some disk space on the Exchange server OS partition which had reported low disk space. Did I just answer my own question?

I got this on my Back up Server:

40% of free space on the HD where exchange2000 is running...

Any idea?

1) Just to finish off on my post, the disk space problem seems to have in fact been the problem. Since clearing out the drive and freeing up the disk space, it has been backing up fine.

2) Sorry I can't help on this one but does that report indicate that it found a store and just didn't back it up or that it didn't find a store to backup?

I am getting a very similar error as the original post. I believe I have enough disk space - nearly 8 gig, more than I had the last time it worked - so I don't think that is the problem. I'm running Exchange 5.5 on NT4.0 with Backup Exec 8.60.

I started having this problem after the exchange server crashed and the databases were corrupted. The databases have since been restored and the mail server is working as it should.

Here is the latest BEX03.txt job log:
