Hello,
I recently upgraded my data storage array on my home-built server: dual Opteron 244s, (2) Raptors in RAID 1 for OS, (Windows Small Business Server Premium)(3) Raptors in RAID 5 for data. This is a single server in a small office w/ 9 clients.
Included in the data array was the following MBDATA:
priv1.ebd, priv1.stm, pub1.ebd and pub1.stm. I did not relocate the log files to the RAID 5 array (L
, left them on C:. Probably not a good idea.
I ran a complete backup & verify using SyncBackSE before assembling the new array and reloading the data. I had previously used this program to recover data to a rebuilt array and it went perfectly. As an extra measure, I stopped Exchange services and drag-and-drop copied the above files to a folder on the C: drive. I also have the data from the previous successful restore stored elsewhere.
Upon recovery all files were present but Exchange was not available to clients. I was unable to manually mount the Information Store or Mailbox store, receiving error # c1041724. All pertinent Exchange services are running. I was unable to view Public Folders receiving error # c1030af3. I ran the restore several times with the same result. I tried copying the data from the backup folder on C:, same result.
The first error in the Event Log is Source ESE, event ID # 454:
"Information Store (2568)First Storage Group- Database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error -551"
Research on this error led to "#define JET_err Consistent time mismatch"
Other errors, in order, are 9518, 8197, 9175, 1005, it's a bloodbath in that log!
I am a relative amateur when it comes to Exchange and am here seeking a solution in simplified language. Thanks for your time.
Tony
