Any Excel guru's out there? :)

On a work pc I open Excel 2000. I click Insert>object but then the erorr appears:

Excel.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.

Things I have tried:

1. Detect and repair
2. Deleting the 9.0 Key
3. Opening it from the run line > Excel /a

Still a problem!

Any ideas?

Do a FIND for any .xlb file(s) on your pc.
Change the extension from .xlb to .old
Try to recreate the behavior. Does it still occur?
