Hi I am using excel 2003 and have created a number of lists. But when i make a selection in a list it changes the other lists as well. I only want it to change the final column depeding on the selection of the previous choices.

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Result Column
a bb cc dd yes/no
b cx de de yes/no

Each column has multiple enteries, but they shouldn't change the neighbour column after i make a selection. Only the result column should change after making a certian combination and I am entering all the data.

Hope this makes sence, thanks.

How is it effecting the other columns can you give some examples? I am guessing you are not using data filter

When I make/move the lists to different row and change the list it doesn't effect the other list's. but as soon as I put them next to each in the same row a change in the first list changes the other list as well.

You can see the two lists side by and two seperate. Side by side they change each other, completely sperate they don't.

can you actually post the excel file? or explain better what you mean by

The picture you posted without any explanation is not undertandable. (at least to me)

"...when i make a selection in a list it changes the other lists as well."

Making a SELECTION should not change ANYTHING.

Making a SELECTION in an AutoFilter, hides ROWS.

Of course, if you have different lists occupying the same ROWS, and you make a SELECTION in an AutoFilter, then it affects ALL the data in those rows. That's how it works.

Skip,
