I've asked this before and never really got a solid solution. Time have moved on and there might be some new way of doing this as we are now on MCD 6 SP1.

In the case of a fire and the building, I'd some kind of feature access code or key that will send ALL calls to a pre-recorded message saying that we have left the building. I don't think this is possible, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. One way of doing this would be to use Night2, however we operate a service desk that has staggered finish times, so night 1 and night 2 are already in use.

So at the moment I've been left with using a the feature access code remote call forward 3rd party on our main number to forward calls to the hunt group to the voicemail. This works fine.

My issue is that this doesn't work with an ACD path for our servicedesk, when tried I get invalid. So I assume I'll have to put a dummy extension or huntgroup before the ACD and re-route that.

Any suggestions or improvements will be welcome.

You pretty much have it right. There is not much changed for routing options in 6. That being said your ACD setup could be adjusted. You could do a hunt group before, but my question is if you are using n1 and n2 service are you using the path unavailable answer point? If not you could use this to point to the main dn so that when you forward it to the message the queues will follow suite.

We are not using the path unavailable so that's a good call. That might sort it for us, thanks!
