We had a number of our IP phones drop from our BCM400 today. By the time I was notified and went in to check they were coming back online (about 30sec outage). I checked the Alarm log and it shows:
**ERROR** Reset by Network Manager
What does this mean? In the service manager CCRSAppServer was stopped (which I started no problem) and also postgres was stopped but seem to restart itself before I had a chance to. So I'm not sure what if any other services restarted.

Anyone run into this before or know of what I should check?
System seems to be working fine again now.

Thanks,
Graham

We had the same issue occur again today. The error actually is: MPS reset by network manager. Any idea what could be causing this?

I have the same problem happening right now on a BCm400 4.0 with the latest SU patch.

Any ideas?

The latest patch seemed to resolve this for me.

When we had the issue a reboot seemed to temporarily resolve it - until the next auto-backup ran. Just a theory, not a confirm link between the issue and the auto-backup.

What patch are you refering to?

I just applied SU.26 to the system....this appears to be the latest patch...

**Update**

Tried Replacing all of the modules and BFT.

error still happening.

Usually get a dozen or so before the system freaks out and restarts automatically. - Sometimes the voicemail just stops working...error happening ever 10-30 minutes...

Hopefully it's not the MSC....

I would back the system up quick and replace the hard disk or re-image the one you have sounds corrupt to me

If its not broke tweak it..

TLDuk, i already have a backup i'm going to try replacing the drive with another...

Funny how there are five or so posts about this issue on TT but they all go cold with no message from the OP on how they resolved the issue or if they did...sucks for the next guy....

FYI also seeing
**ERROR** Received EMS_EVENT_CONNECTION_LOST from MSM;MPS service aborted

Then the system warmstarts....

It was SU.26 that "seemed" to resolve the issue for me. At least we haven't had any errors since updating.

grcampb, thanks for the update.

I tried loading Su26 and it didn't resolve anything, i'm going to take the old MSC back to the lab to "tinker" with it, however the site is up and running after replacing the MSC card...
