The Event viewer consistently flags up the following errors at boot up:

Application error

Event Source: TrueVector Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5007
Description:
TrueVector engine: File "K:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\XPALL22AUG03.ldb" was corrupt and has been copied to "K:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\xDB19.tmp". File "K:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\XPALL22AUG03.ldb" was corrupt and has been deleted.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: TrueVector Service
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5009

Description:
TrueVector engine: Timeout on debug mutex

System error
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7002
Description:
The Routing and Remote Access service depends on the NetBIOSGroup group and no member of this group started.

This on a stand alone system, XP home, no LAN, only Dial Up modem for inernet use. Zone Alarm firewall (free download) and Norton System Works 2002 antivirus load at startup.

I have found a series of xDB*.tmp logs but cannot read them.

I have checked various sites via Google and the Microsoft link, but I cannot decide what action I should take to get rid of these errors. It seems to me that I must have made a mistake and installed some network option during Windows installation that was not required on a non-network system.

I would be grateful for any suggestion for getting rid of these errors, other than not opening event viewer.

Sounds like a problem with ZoneAlarm.

Is ZoneAlarm installed correctly?

When ZoneAlarm is installed it will place a service in Services under TrueVector Internet Monitor, there are several services or system components that this depends on such as -

AFD Networking Support Environment.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC).
Vsdatant.

Try the ZoneAlarm forum for more help.

Timeout on debug mutex.

Try your luck here too.

Thank you very much, I have got rid of the Truevector errors with an install and reinstall of Zone Alarm, the problem was most likely caused by choosing to retain the various settings during upgrade.

However the service control manager error 7002 still has to be resolved. I will follow up on your leads.

Thank you for your help.

I have solved both of my problems as follows:

Truevector errors
When I checked the Zonelabs forum I found that a lot of people were having exactly the same problems as myself without any solution in way of patches etc.
I have reverted to release 4.5.530 until someone nails the bug in the latest two releases.

Event ID 7002
This has been cleared by disabling the The Routing and Remote Access service.

So far the event log has has been clear of errors and warnings.
