Enabling new DID's in dialing Plan

We recently bought a new batch of DID's, however, when I do a prt ludn they are not entered in there. How to I enable new DID's in to our dialing plan?

either they are already used or you may be converting 4 digit to 3??? in LD 20, PRT, DNB, put a new DID in and what does it show??
 
Of course if I do a LD 20 PRT DNB nothing is going to print. They arent in the dialing plan yet they arent under PRT LUDN they need to be added in somehow or just enabled. I dont know where to go to enable them.

no, all of the numbers are in the software, prt a dnb of one of your new ones, what does it show. You don't have to enable them!

All DN's are already in the systen and you don't turn them on, you just program them to a phone.

Until you program it to a phone, it won't show up in the DNB.
 
Here is the prt ludn, there are a bunch of numbers missing out of there that arent programmed anywhere though, also there are no numbers past 7900 series and I know we dont have any numbers programmed past that. However, the new DIDs we got are 8300 series and thats why I can program them they arent showing up in this list.

Any number not there IS in use or programmed somewhere. Do the world a favor, program a set as 8300 and then look at your 83XX range.
 
What number do you dial to get an outside line. If it's 8 then all the numbers from 8000 to 8999 are unavailable. In LD 20 if you prt dnb of 8, what do you get?

tnjwinters your right, I am an idiot. I didnt even think about it. To get a long distance trunk we dial 8.
 
So that number is either and AC1 or AC2. Print the dnb of 8 and it will tell you what it's programmed as.

Yep, you could change your AC2 to a two digits, say 85 and that would free up all 8000 to 8499 and 8600 to 8999 numbers.
 
Great, thats not going to go over to well with the command, but hey what else can I do.

There are other options. You could see if there is a better range of numbers available. Other guys on the forum might have a better idea of how to handle the current numbers you have.
 
I'd shoot for another block of DIDs, their cheap. Looks like a lot available in the 4xxx series, 42, 45, 46. Hopefully avalable.
 
the 8300 range shows up in customer 1, I'd bet you are logged in to customer 0
 
jumping in late.. you only need on ac code.. that may free up the 8.. if not you have two options, one is use an idc for every did, the other is to request a block of did's that match you vacant numbers for that customer

Thats why we asked you to prt the DNB for the numbers you wanted to use, would have saved hours.
 
I think you are now stuck with creating an IDC table for each of the new DID's. This way you can map the 83XX number to any existing DN.

My advice would be to try to map the DID as closely as possible. for example:

User DN =X300, then the DID that you map in the table would be IDGT 8300 CDGT X300 and so on for each of your new block.

Not the prettiest method, but easier than trying to teach your trained monkeys....errrr....end users how to dial 9 1 etc for long distance than 8 1 etc.
