On Tuesday the BCM shutdown several times due to a bad UPS system. Now when I start the BCM I get this error:

"windows NT could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \winnt\system32\config\systemhardware profile\last known good menu"

Anythoughts on repair?

If you know how to do it, why not image the faulty drive with ghost ( provided its not got physical damaged ) and ftp it somewhere and I will fix it for you..

TLDuk I have an FTP site I can upload it, could you take a look

yeah but theres only 2 gb data on it in default

TLDuk, I will ghost the drive and put it on the FTP, is there a way to talk off the board via email so I don't disclose the ftp info to everyone.

What do I ghost

I have 4 partitions

So replacing the harddrive with a new 3.6 drive would work and I would not have to enter in new keycodes?

Here is what I think is the issue. Now I got the registry fixed I get this: chkdsk can not run due to a incorrect version of chkdsk something like that. I removed the drive and ran check disk from an NT4.0 machine with the same service pack (sp6) and build. However, does the bcm have a embeded version of NT on the rom chip which could be NT4.0 SP 2. It is trying to run chkdsk from the SP2 build on the rom chip and not from the drive.

If this is correct, is there anyway to fix it.

U would not have to enter new keycodes. If u replace the MSC then you'd have to go to the Nortel site to regenerate the keycodes for the replacement MSC.

So if I replaced the harddrive with a new 3.6 version and the currect msc is working fine, I could just plug in the new drive and everything be OK?

U'd have to connect to the system w/ a serial cable and initialize the HD before it would work. The procedure is laid out in the manual under HD replacement.

So a new 3.6 or 3.7 harddrive plugged in and initilized would work?

yes but you will loose your voice mail programing

No problem on vm, call centers, or autoattendants, I just want to save the phone programing.
