I setup the shortcode to access a group mailbox but it tells me that the mailbox hasn't been setup for "remote access" - WHERE do I turn this on???

You need to add a code to the voicemail box, it's under the voicemail tab for the group :)

Youv'e probably already done it, but adding Hgroupname to a users source numbers tab will light their message waiting light when the group recieves a message and allow them into the mailbox without needing to enter the code :)

:(( I did that and it came up with the same message?

My code looks like this: (4.0 software)

*91
Voicemail Collect
"?NightVM"
0

It's ?"NightVM" not "?NightVM"

Okay, I put a passcode under the voicemail tab of the huntgroup but it still said that Remote access is not setup on the mailbox, so I rebooted the phone system but still no luck.

Did you change the shortcode as above? Look in System status and see what mailbox you actually are in, check the name carefully :)

Yes I did fix the shortcode, and Im gonna check system status right now

If you get stuck feel free to email me the config file and I'll have a look, use my home address from there :)

I may have given bad advice, try it back at "?NightVM" , I have had to do it both ways before, I'm sure Avaya changed the way it works at some point :)

Hi Tom,

With embedded how did u manage to divert calls to a night HG based on time profife, I tried to do that using HG night service but after vers. 4.0+ it's sticks with the Original HG, I coudn't figure out using embedded how to transfer the caller to a different HG so I could play a night message.

tks

I have seen that Hname does not work and that Hnumber did work !

they changed the hunt group vm targeting in 4.0

now it will always return to the original hunt group vm.

If you are using time profiles, apply a time profile to the Incoming call route and that will give you the different voicemails for night and day as it changes the targeting (be aware they work in reverse on Incoming call routes)

Time profiles on ICR work on the time that is put in to the time profile
So this is not reverse, it is the way of thinking :)
So if you put in 8:00 till 17:00 then on that time the profile is active
For nights you need 17:00 till 23:59 and another one for 00:00 till 7:59

The point I was making is if he applied the time profile he had already created to the Incoming call route and set the fallback destination, it would in effect work in reverse.....so there :)
