Hi All,

Odd issue which has me perplexed.
Client VM.
Mailbox set up to receive messages overnight.
When they get in the next day and try and access the mailbox it says the mailbox is busy, if they wait a while it works or a reboot enables them to access it.
The other issue is that people can call, hear the greeting, say their message but the VM does not save it so it is not there in the morning.
We have tested and confirmed the recording issue.

IPO 500 V2 Running 11.0.4.0.0 Build 74

TIA

lots of issues with that release I would downgrade to 11.0.2
Mike

Most likely its full to capacity. Somewhere there's a mailbox with a lot of messages that have never been checked or a user who marks every message as saved. You need to work out who/where (admittedly not easy with embedded voicemail).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

look in SSA at the mailbox tab and see if any are over 250 messages. I also had issue with a mailbox so full (over 450 messages) that it would not use visual voice only the TUI *17 to access it.

This is a known issue with 11.0.4. The patch Avaya released (and then retracted) in December did not have a fix for it. So it's something we're going to have to live with for a bit. Sometimes rebooting it works, but often it doesn't. The voicemail is still working and they can access they're messages via traditional methods.

Hi All, so downgraded and the problem persists.

This is really annoying as i now have a customer worried that they are losing messages and therefore business and they are demanding answers.

No mailboxes are full.
The SD card is not full.

The only other change they have made is switch from ISDN to SIP as they moved site.

Redswine, they are accessing using traditional methods, it just says the mailbox is busy for a while, eventually they can get in.

How did you downgrade?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I ran the upgrade tool from an earlier version of the management tool.

I was on the phone with an Avaya support engineer a few days ago and he told me sometime next week the latest version of 11 should be re-released but even he said to give it time and don't jump on it.

Good ol' Avaya. R11.0.4.2 released Dec 5, pulled Dec 10(ish), released again Jan 10, pulled again Jan 10 (PM), and now rescheduled for Jan 22.

Latest support notice

I'm giving this a pass as I can't trust them to get it right. I'll wait for 11.1, 11.0.5 or 11.0.4.3.

FocusTechnology - Nah you don't have to go to 10.... when you upgrade just don't go to the latest and greatest of version 11, just use the 11 release right before the newest. The only thing I have to do is install the hot fix, the latest version of 11 has the hot fix built in.

I have rolled back to an early version of 11 and still have the same issues with voicemail.

If voicemail is that mission critical the customer should invest in VM Pro. Embedded isn't really intended to be a powerhouse voicemail system. It is for very basic functions on a small system. But that is just an opinion.
