Hi all,

My problem is with the IP office 500.
When I reboot the server my PBX do not recognise attached card to the pbx and voice mail do not work at all.
Do any body has that kind of problem.
I`m thinking that a software upgrade even to the same version might do the trick.

Any propositions how to fix this problem?

Make sure the card is plugged in correctly.
Upgrade to proper software ver.
That should do it.

I had this problem at a customers site after a couple of little brownouts. The customer opted out of the UPS so the system bounced. After that when I logged into monitor the system would state the card is unrecognized. Even after a couple of warm restarts it gave me the same problem. I pulled the power on the system reseated the card, as TheDoz said, gave it a cold boot and vuala! Worked no problem.

Thanks Lads I`ll try to do this in this way, but I already change a card on the back because I was thinking that the card it self is broken. But after I exchange card problem get back again, so Cold restart do not do the thing.
I`ll try to upgrade the system that might help.

Thanks Anyway

There is a pb for this

i have had the same problem on virtually all embedded voicemail cards installed, there is a private fix for it, contact your supplier,

avayaitup - Any particular software version(s) where virtually all embedded voicemail cards suddenly become unrecognized by the system? Just on IP500s?

This is one of those kinds of problems that shakes my confidence in IPO...

IP 500 only runs on the 4.0 and 4.1 releases so there is not a whole lot of difference between them and 4.1 builts on 4.0 if there is a problem it might have migrated up to the 4.1 release. IP office works mostly well if you follow the recommendations of Avaya. I told our sales team not to sell the embedded because it is a pain to program and has next to no features. So I only have two sites with embedded and they are in the SOE.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

I've run embedded on a 406 and SOE and they run great. I only had this problem with a 500 and its happened once in the past 6 months or so.

This is IP500 related

The next release will solve it

A cold reboot will fix it (pull the plug)

Not sure if 4.0.14 has this feature or not, but 4.1 you can program a short code feature "Shutdown Embedded Messaging". Dial that shortcode, reseat the card, and that brings it back up as well.

Hi all,

Ask the PB to Avaya, I used it and this issue isn't occuring since 1 month.

Try this it works for me.
I have SCN'ed 9 sites, all using Embedded vmail card.
Some had Vmail lockup at soft reboot.

Fix= Run System Monitor
Unpower IP500; remove embedded card; power back up PBX; watch monitor and make sure all system bootup configuration are complete or wait 5 to 10 mins.

Unpower IP500; insert card; power up. Perform soft reboot test. It should reboot normal now.

I've noticed that when you make major changes to AA and require a reboot, it locks up again. Then you will have to perform the above steps to fix it.

Good luck
