IP Office V2 R9.1 service pack 6. Anyone else having an issue with the Auto attendant recording vanishing? I record the AA (*8401), then I check in Embedded file management and verify the recording is present. I puts the recording in the Dynamic/LVMAIL directory. Then anywhere from 3hours to 3 weeks the recording simply disappears from the Dynamic/LVMAIL directory. Debating whether to upgrade them to 9.1 SP7 but I did not see this issue listed as a fix in the latest SP. This was a new install a couple months ago and the I did a format/recreate on the SD card when the unit arrived to make sure it was the latest release. Ideas anyone?

We use Embedde VM on almost every install and on any version and I never seen a issue like this.

the only times I see anything involving settings "vanishing" it is invariably due to someone merging back an old cfg that they have left open on their computer instead of clearing it down.

is it the recording that vanishes or the programming pointing t it?

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Check no users are configured for UMS where they shouldn't be.

Some songs are very, very long. This one isn't.

IPGuru, it is the recording that vanishes. I have saved a copy of the recording and when I import it back into the Dynamic/lvmail directory the AA works fine.

Sounds like a bad SD card. I worked on the exact same issue a while back. I think it was 9.1.3 though. We upgraded, then swapped the chassis, then the case ended up with another tech due to availability. I'm pretty sure he recreated the SD, which did not work as a next step; then ultimately replaced the SD card.

I have been out for a few days. I suspected the sd card as well so I will replace the sd card and update the results. Thanks all!

Joe, I did a recreate when we originally did the install to get the unit to the latest service pack.

I once had that issue, found that if you do not statically assign the IP address of the IPO LAN there are funky things going on. Not only did my AA greetings revert my hunt groups disappeared along with it. After statically assigning the IP address, those didn't happen again. However it was only affected if the system power cycled. I do not know if that maybe the case with yours. Thanks.

Have a static address, but thanks! Just got the new sd card so I will swap it out next week.

I have also seen DHCP'ing an IP address delete my groups.

Update

Just swapped out the sd card. Will give it a month and see if the AA recordings remain intact.

We are starting to see many defective sd cards out there lately

Update...

Installed the new sd card yesterday and in less than 24 hours the AA recording vanished. Will be upgrading from 9.1.6 to 9.1.7 next.

I am still installing systems with 9.1.6 and I have yet to see this issue. Could possibly be a corrupted config or a control unit issue.

Hi,

We're having same issue on IP Office v2 9.1.7 . Installed Brand new IPO on customer site a week ago.

-Created Auto Attendant,
-convert a wav file to c11 with LVM tool
-uploaded it on IPO.

few hours later c11 file disappeared from embedded file management.
It looks like some kind of bug.

I tried a kind of differnt approach workaround and it seems fine by now. :)
I recorded a dummy AA message with *8401 short code via phone which has approximately same lenght with original AA mesage then turn of "Enable Local Recording" from manager and saved it. In embedded file management I deleted the dummy c11 file from SDCARD/DYNAMIC/LVMAIL/AAG directory and uploaded original AA message.

Update- Now at 9.1 SP7 the AA message has not disappeared yet. Hopefully it resolved the issue but I will give it a few more weeks before I'm satisfied. But of course 9.1 SP 7 must have a new "bug" or I missed a feature change between releases. I call in and get the AA, then dial ext "A". "A" answers and then hits "Transfer" and the BLF for Ext "B". Ext "B" is currently on the phone. I should get Ext "B's" voice mail but I am basically on hold indefinitely hearing a beep. Now if we do the same scenario but instead of hitting transfer and the BLF button for Ext "B", we hit transfer and dial Ext"B", the call will go to Ext "B's" voice mail. Strange!

It sounds like they didn't complete the transfer. You should get a notice on your screen that the extension is in use and get options to send to voicemail and things.
