Since yesterday afternoon, I have not been able to send and receive email on my PC, not just for one of my ISP's, but for all. I am using Outlook Express 6 with NIS 2005 on Windows XP Home (SP1).
The common error message I get is:
"A time-out occurred while communicating with the server. Account: 'MyUserName@MyISP.com', Server: 'pop.MyISP.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC19".
Nothing has been directly installed on my PC since email it was last working, although I notice that the NAV definitions were updated yesterday so I guess something could have gone awry with the Symantec live update installing a faulty update.
This is also suspicious because if I temporarily disable NIS I can send & receive, but as soon as it is re-enabled, the error returns.
Does anyone have the same problem or have any ideas what is wrong here?
Thanks in advance.
