The elan goes down and right back up and most time the symposium recovers fine but 10% of the time it doesent.
No one can pinpoint why it's doing this. Anyone got a clue?

yes it's own elan. The symposium has a dual nic one to the elan the other to the local network. The 81 says everything is ok but the agents cant login through symposium that's when I know it's down, nothing else indicates it is.

Most of these problems are from the patch cords. Replace patch cords between the switch and hub and sccs and hub.

other items to check:
1. good power on hub
2. only elan connections on hub (switch core 0 and 1, sccs elan, CP elan, OTM elan) Possible to get to much traffic on this little hub.
3. Dep list upto date on switch
4. Peps up to date on SCCS
5. Call Registers correct on switch
6. Transceivers not faulty

also you might have a route in your server between your elan clan, for cmd do a route print (not a sever dude) and see if you have a persistant route in place by mistake. i had elan separation on s bps switch and was taking hits without knowing it. have you tried ld 137 stat elnk to see if your taking hits?.. to bvad we can't li errh ; ; ;

Is it trying to AutoNegotiate a link speed and failing or speeds are mismatched?

e.g BOTH ends are set to AutoNeg or 10/Half, 10Full,100Half or 100Full

If one end is set to Auto and another is fixed or both are set fixed to mismatched speeds, you will have problems.

Stu..

Well the mystery is solved.

The culprit was with the symposium server.
The adjust for daylight savings time and timesrv service had to be disabled.

Worked like a charm!!

glad you found that one a dynamic time problem would not have every crossed my sites. congrats
