guys, scenario is 3300 MiVB 7.1 SP1, with about 10 extensions, this small office is part of a cluster of another 10 or 12 nodes.

This office requires to have a door phone so receptionist can answer door calls and open door by sending dtmf.

Have you had previous experience with door phones? any suggestion? shall I go SIP or analog?

Any experience with the Algo 8028?

Thanks a lot, regards,

daniel

Analog doorphone or SIp should just work. Sending DTMF back to the doorphone is key (sic) to making this work.

RFC2833 is often required for SIP sets to operate relays...just something to be aware of.

I haven't tried any SIP boxes, but the Algo looks good especially if you need the power for the latch. I think a Viking E-20-IP would likely work also

We use CyberData. Set up as a generic sip.
It's never been a problem. It's then your choice on the digits to send to open the door.
Or they have a version with a keypad that can dial extensions from a list or extension number directly.

Someone has to learn how to do it!

SIP Door phone that i know works is a Helios 2N, will need a User Lic on the 3300 as its a SIP ext. Can have video too, along with release by dialing a code.

Done this with a SIP and it works a treat

You can't duct tape stupid.
