I've had a problem with a door phone on a BCM and i'm wondering if anyone else has come accross this. The BCM is a 3.5 version, the doorphone is made for the BCM, NT8B79FD. My problem is that every 2 weeks or so, the doorphone will busy out. If you call it's ext. it say's "doorphone busy". If you press the button on the doorphone, you don't hear the tone it normally makes, it's just dead. I have changed ports, changed the door phone, and tested cable pairs. It is set up as follows:
The doorphone is ext 2252.
The target dn is 2251.
The phones that are programmed to ring are 3, and have answer dn for ext.2251.
It uses a DOC to open the door.
I still can't figure out what is causing it to go busy.
I have to disable the port in order to clear. I have called ITAS on this and they don't have a clue.
My guess it's got to be the BCM. Something is not set right on it. I have even found that the documentation for the doorphone was wrong as far as the handsfree goes.
Yet it will work fine for a couple weeks.
Any ideas.

Have you removed all line appearances on the Door Phone DN?

What is 2251? a set or unused port? just wondering if somehow 2251 had answered the door phone and sitting idle with each other.
Maybe try another DN instead of 2251 as a tes for a couple weeks then change the DN of the doorphone for another test if needed.

Ext.2251 is an unused port on the BCM. I don't have anything connected to it.
I originally had used a unused ext. number off of the analog station module, but changed it to a digital port after the problem started. Both ext. did not have any line appearances, call foward, etc.

I have a similar issue with an analog device. I can call out on the device, but when I try to call it, it always says it is busy. Both DNs on either side work fine but it is just this one line. I have tried replacing the wiring between it and the BCM, and even plugged different devices into it, it is just this one line.

Any way to clear the status on an analog device? I tried disabling it like galfaro said but it just comes back up as busy.

If at first you don't succeed....then sky diving isn't for you.
