Door Opening Controller To Open A Gate

I could only find a thread from 2004 about this with no solution on it so I am curious if anyone has accomplished this?

Customer has a Panasonic that they use to open a gate but they want to switch to a little Norstar system with a Door Phone & Door Opening Controller.

Just to clarify, this would be for an actual gate to allow people to drive in (like a garage door) and not a gate with a door strike.

The DOC's purpose is to send 24 volts to the device so it depends what the device is asking for so best to ask the gate people or measure what ever the Panasonic is sending.

Drive press's door phone button
Door phone rings at desired sets (or chime or both)
User press's OPEN or 6 (# can be changed via dip switches on the DOC) to send the 24 volts.

I don't see 24 volts present at the relay contacts on a DOC. I see a dry contact closure in either a normally open or normally closed condition.

DOC relay is dry contact max 30V 6 amps. The DOC itself needs 12-24 volts AC or DC volt power. You can bridge the power supply to the DOC and the relay or use a separate source to the relay if the door strike does not meet the DOC power requirements (more than 24v or less than 12v). Best to see the manual for correct install practice.

Power Supply leads
------------------- to Pin 1 and looped over to Pin 4 on the relay
------------------- to Pin 2 and looped to Door Strike

Pin 5 to other side of Door Strike

Pin 7&8 to Door Phone
