Door controller recently replaced, can't ring multiple DNs now

Norstar Compact ICS 4.0 system. Had a DOC operating for 12+ years on DN36, it would ring multiple DNs concurrently - no problems. The DOC recently failed and was replaced with a brand new DOC, same Nortel model. Works great however the technician could not replicate the multiple-DN ringing config, after more than an hour of messing with it. He didn't charge labor for the DOC replacement due to this issue, but ultimately we've been left hanging with a DOC that rings one DN (33) and the other DNs have to wait for it to fall over before they can pick it up. People at the door are losing patience and so are we.

(I'm guessing that the new DOC could have been initially configured by the installer with 9*4 and then the CICS programming need not touched because all that would have been the same, presuming the DOC was programmed at the same DN, and to ring the same DN, as its predecessor?)

From the Google the best I can find is that I should program the DOC to call DN35 (which is a live port with no set attached) and configure four of my DNs with sets (21, 31, 32 and 33) as appear-and-ring answer DNs for DN35. That's what I've done and it's not working so I'm missing something.

If I had the DOC ring a live set (say DN33) and programmed 21, 31 and 32 as answer DNs for 33, then those other DNs would ring with ALL of DN33's calls, right? I don't want that.

I feel that between the technician and myself, we've monkeyed with so many settings that I'm just one click away from the correct combination but just can't quite get there.

Any assistance greatly appreciated. I know the entire system is ancient but aside from the occasional set failure, nothing else ever breaks and since we're a cash-starved non-profit we buzz along with it very happily and just pick up second-hand sets on eBay as needed.

Thanks much!

The DOC is only a Relay to open the door, it's only programming is the DIP switches which tell it which code to use such as 6.
F9*4 is to program the Door Phone.

So instead you are using Answer DN keys.
To avoid your DN33 issues the best way to use that is to use a spare port on the CICS and have an Answer DN key on the required sets for that spare port.
Or if no spare ports then Answer DN key for phones such as places like Courtesy, Kitchen, Drivers, Copy room, phone room etc.

Since your system is only using 2 digit DN's your Hunt Group feature is hidden in System Programming.
If you want to un-hide it one day change your DN's to 3 digits, it will just put a 2 in front of all existing DN's, 21 becomes 221 etc.

You could have the Door Phone call the DN of the Hunt Group and add members as needed.

Another option is to have the required sets and the door phone in the same page zone and then use the Chime option instead of Ringing.

Any Norstar tech should have resolved this easily.

Thanks for the quick reply! Sorry for using the wrong terminology. I would have thought likewise of the tech; I think he's been away from this system for too many years. Whatever.

So what I need is on page 11 of this link? Set the number of rings to none and choose page zone 1 (which is where the sets live that need to answer the door,) choose a chime, and then all those sets will get the door chime simultaneously? Could swear that we'd tried that but I will give it another go.

I can't test at the moment, have to wait until after hours.
