Don't want to pass digits into VM...

How can I send a number into voicemail (Meridian Mail) without passing the digits of the original caller?

I am trying to send phones built on a Call Manager into our Meridian Mail for a temporary period while the Unity VM is being rebuilt. I want to send all the CM phones to a temporary recording that says the VM is not available. I built a VM Pilot in the CM that forwards to a Phantom on the Nortel that forwards into the MerMail. (The connection between the Nortel and the CM is a QSIG PRI) However, rather than going to the entry for the Phantom DN, it's trying to go to the "mailbox" of the forwarded CM phone. I'd like for everything to go to one common recording, since I'll be forwarding about 200 devices (on a temporary basis) and don't want to build mailboxes or VSDN entries for each one...

Any input is appreciated.

Not familiar with Call Manager but this should get it to an Announcement of some sort.

Make the “number” a ACD Queue with no agent, send the NCFW to Meridian Mail, make a DN services table for the Number, and rout call the way you need in or through MM.

Yes, I've done that, but what happens is that it passes the extension of the phone forwarded to voice mail and attempts to route it to an already configured menu.

Here is what I have:
phone on CM is Ext 7001
VM pilot in CM is 6785
6785 in CM routes to the Nortel
6785 is in Nortel as Phantom DN that fowards to Meridian Mail(x3123)

When you call the CM phone, and it goes to VM, it accesses the mailbox for 7001 in Meridian Mail

What I would prefer, is to be able to route 6785 to a generic mailbox. So is there a way to get the call into Merdian Mail without passing the digits from the phone (x7001)

do you have a route group/list pointing to the nortel? In the route list, try inputting a number into the calling party transform mask field and build a meridian mail box to accept calls from that number.

What I’m trying to say is take the 6785 out of the Nortel system as a “Phantom DN” and put 6785 back in as a ACD Queue with out any agents set up in the Nortel system, set the NCFW prompt to our Voice Mail DN, the Mer Mail will see the Queue ID and depending on the DN Services Table you can direct the queue id to a Announcement service.

Like I stated not familiar with Call Manager, but I think this should work.

using the NCFW in a queue will net the same result. hence why I tried it as a phantom.

tried the Calling Party Transform Mask and the Called Party Transform Mask in the Route Pattern config. No dice.

In the calling party transform mask, did you select "off" from the drop down menu and than update and reset the route list?? If that still doesn't work than its on to plan B and the Nortel configs. Allow incoming digit translation on the route and than define the numbers or number ranges coming from Call Mangler into an IDC table to convert the calls to x6785

Those are some good ideas - I'll mess around with it today. Right now I've got a work around that has the number coming from call manager dialing a DID that goes into voicemail. I don't really like that since it's "unelegant", but I guess it's all temporary, and you gotta do what you gotta do. :)
