My company normally works on alarm circuits, however we are donating time to helping a non-profit organization with a donated phone system.

We have the Partner ACS v4.0 along with a Partner Messaging v1.0 which in turn has a 6 port slot-card installed.

I've hooked up our two phone lines, and the 2 phones we will be using primarily. I've programmed in the Hunt Group 7 so that both my phones (10 and 11) are assigned.

As soon as I do that both phones ring continually. Hitting Intercom777 leads to a busy signal at all times.

Any ideas as to why it's doing this? I used Telnet to link directly to the VMS module, I ran the reports and everything came back as if it were set A-Ok.

Any ideas?

you don't assign the phones to group 7 , you assign the VM ports to group 7

why not call in someone to set this up and program it

shouldnt take a hour or so and it would be money well spent in the long run

I wish we could, it's all donated work - in that the organization has absolutely no money to invest into this system, and without it they are dead in the water.

I have four extensions that are labeled 9991 9992 9993 9994 - I take it those are the VM ports?

List ALL your equipment and someone will help you with the basics.

We have:

1x Avaya Partner ACS Proc v4.0
1x Avaya Partner Messaging v1.0
1x Avaya 6 Port Card
4x Avaya Phones

We have a docking base with 5 slots, the base unit (ACS) is in the center slot, with the Messaging module in the slot directly to the right of the base unit.

The 6 port card is in Slot#1 of the Messaging system.

We have 2 lines hooked into the base unit. We have 2 of the phones hooked up as extensions from the base unit.

They are extension 10 and 11.

I have the software installed on my PC (Partner Messaging Release v1.0) and see my extensions 10 and 11 as well as 9991 9992 9993 9994.

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm (obviously) a complete n00b when it comes to phone systems!

1. Move the voice mail to the far left slot in the carrier.
2. Only assign extension 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, to group 7
(#505, group7, 18,19,20,21,22,23 = 1 assign.
3. All phone extensions are #310 1 assign.(VMS Cover)

Extensions 9991,9992,9993,9994 are default General mailboxes for each auto attendant.
You have to create the extension you want.

Got it, thanks anyhow!

We found some info that led us to use the last 6 physical extensions for the VMS hunt group - changed those over and BAM it works!

Thanks guys, appreciate the help!
