Does IDC take DNIS entry of 10 or more digits?

I have a dnxp 98 pkg and have set NDGT in rdb to 31.
FDID is set to yes in IDC still the max digit i can enter in IDC (IDGT) is 8.

Can anyone help me out on it?

I don't think you are going to get over 4 on the IDGT, I believe you are getting 8 because a range is allowed i e,

IDGT 2400 2450

I think that is why you are getting 8 in.

all you can do is try.. i've never tried to use the idc for anything except internal.. for rerouting to a 10 digit i would usually maxp 1 or use a dsc

yes you can with the right software pkg. you have to have dn expantion package and another one I can't think of.

valid range for IDGT is 0-9999 0-9999.

1-4 digit per set of number(s)

I had opened a case with Nortel , which was assigned to Daniel Bravo. Status:- Case closed .....its not possible.

On the other hand, The "N DIGIT DNIS" Feature (Features and services 3 of 3 :- 553-3001-306B3_14.00)suggests that the DNIS can be defined till 31 digits.
I tried going by the NTP, but still it doesn't work.

At one of my customer sites i have seen an IDC entry of 10 digits. Trying to get in touch with the guy who implemented it.

Below is the IDC table with 10 digit IDC.
*************************
SDID NO
IDGT CDGT
6556123456 6194
6556331234 6194
6556333333 6194
**************************

I have solved the problem.

In the IDC config, I kept SDID and FDID = no

Now I am able to make 31 entries in the IDC.
It was this simple.

Thanks all for trying to help me.
If anyone wants the config details, let me know.

If thats the case then I have a question for everyone.

if you can put 11 digits in the IDC table, would this be an option to reroute a harrasing phone call without the use of symposium? normally we use symposium to tell it if clid=555-555-1212 then send to wherever. If you can manipulate the IDC table with 10 digits, couldn't you reroute that caller without symposium and tell it idgt=5555551212 cdgt=xxxx (ran recording or a security office)

Johnthephoneguy,

I put in my home number with and without NPA, no schwartz,
put cdgt to my boss with and without nxx. Had my house call me several times, didn't work, came to my desk.

i can see this working if the incoming number was actually tagged as DNIS, instead of ANI or CLID.

A AML trace on incomming number to the PBX does actually differentiate between those fields.

The IDC table looks at the called number field, not the calling number field, so you can't redirect calls based on the number the person is calling from.

Don't forget that incoming digits can be translate upto the LDN length:

LDN is 5555
IDC can be from 0 to 9999
Incoming digits will be treated upto 4 digits
In this case, if you receive 10 digits, only the 4 last ones will be treated

LDN is 555
IDC can be from 0 to 999
Incoming digits will be treated upto 3 digits
In this case, if you receive 10 digits, only the 3 last ones will be treated

LDN is 115555
IDC can be from 0 to 999999
Incoming digits will be treated upto 6 digits
In this case, if you receive 10 digits, only the 6 last ones will be treated
