Just wanted to know if your certs expire after a period of time. i know with the CCNA it expires after two years and then you have to retest.

bradfosj,

Microsoft certifications do not expire. Like Microsoft products, they eventually become obsolete.

Is the CCNA two years now? It used to be three.

Microsoft originally tried to expire the MCSE: NT cert, but a backlash from engineers prompted them to reconsider.

Yes I'm am pretty sure the CCNA expires every two years, I will confirm this with my wife. She finished her Network + last month and will be taking her CCNA this Sat. Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh and by the way, thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear that they do not expire, I couldn't stand the thought of testing for the rest of my life.

But keep in mind that while they don't technically expire, the products for which you're certified in are replaced by newer products. So - the value in that MCSE degrades over time if you don't test for the newer versions.

CCNA is three years I hope! Passed yesterday and really don't want to go through that again in the near future [sadeyes]

from the Cisco site:

CCNA certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, either pass the current CCNA exam, or pass the ICND exam, or pass any 642 professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE written exam.
