Hi all,

I'm not super technical but I know PBX's and have used Asterisk for many years. Looking to get an Avaya IP Office as we well it through a partner but as it's mostly just for playing around with, I wanted to check if I need the part above. We are using 9620 IP phones and then 5 SIP trunks with absolutely no digital stations, analog lines, analog devices etc. The quote they gave with just part numbers is below:

IPO IP500 V2 CNTRL UNIT
IPO R8+ ESSNTL EDITION+ LIC
IPO R8.1 USER/ADMIN SET DVD
IPO IP500 V2 SYS SD CARD MUL
IPO LIC SIP TRNK RFA 5
IPO LIC R6+ AV IP ENDPOINT 1
PWR CORD NA 18AWG 10 Amp AC
IPO/B5800 IP500 V2 COMB CARD ATM
IPO IP500 WALL MNTG KIT V3

I'm just not clear on what the IPO/B4800 IP500 V2 Comb Card is, or rather why I need it. Is it for those 10 VCM channels that it includes? As I of course don't need it for analog lines or digital stations etc? Just curious thanks!

I just took out a phone system that I installed in 2001 and their buttons where all printed on paper (Partner System)
Out of the 13 phones there was 1 that had a button changed with whiteout and written over top, all others were still the same as in 2001.
So I have to agree with Intrigrant that the 1400 series is an OK phone and if you are not like me changing buttons on a weekly basis then you should be fine with the paper labels.
I would however prefer the 9508 phones just for visual voice as that sucks really bad with the 1400 sets.

smokinjoe2938 I use an excel sheet for the labels and have 12 on one page and just cut them out, takes a bit longer than with the desi paper but I can do that any time anywhere and always

Interrupt the silence only if you improve it by saying something, otherwise be quiet and everybody will be grateful.

Indeed, I have a word document with several instances of labels on the page, you pass this on to the customer and let them do the rest :)
