I have a BCM 400 R4.0. When an end user presses DND, DID calls and calls that are transfered to them are being rerouted back to the receptionist and the screen reads DND transfer. I have never had this problem before. Anyone know what is going on?

The calls are likely defaulting to the prime set. What do you want them to do?

No calls aren't going back to the prime set because when DND is off the DID will ring at the set. I know how to turn DND on and off but if it is on, all transferred and DID calls are rerouting to reception. When reception gets the call it reads "DND Transfer". When DND is on the phone should basically have no audible tone but be able to be answered if they want. I cant figure out what is going on.

Where is it programmed on the phone to go on DND.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

possibly that phone has the fwd on busy turned on and the forwarding set maybe the recept.

This is a system wide issue. Any phone placed on DND will have the call revert back to reception. The FOB is set to none (that was my original thought) but what I dont get is the screen on the reception phone when it gets kicked back. I have never seen that before even when i was doing norstars.

That's a new one. One thing I've learned about these things(BCMs), is if they're doing something that's completely off the wall, "poke it in the I". Reboot.

Yea thats whats gonna have to happen but I dont want to go there to do it since its 2 hours away.

I think may have to do with the recpt. being a CAP. See, if the recpt. DN is a CAP. If recpt. doesn't need to be a CAP, like doesn't need lines on a KLM or KIM, take out of CAP. Might work.

No CAP or KIM on the phone. The only variable is the Console.net that they use to see who is using the phone and who is busy but this is happenign even when it is off.

Just to be super clear, in programming is the recpt. DN built as a CAP, (Central Answering Position). Not hardware, in software.

No its not.

I would have thought it had to be for Console.net to work. Well, I'll bet it's related to Console.net, but that doesn't help you.

When in doubt with Nortel...reboot. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Are you sure that the target line of each DID is set to Prime for the set that it is assigned to. The reception
set would usually be the default prime. With dnd off it would work okay. With dnd on & a Drt delay of 3 or 4 rings
it work end up ringing at the default prime set.

No its defintely not. I understand direct to prime and this is specifically reading DND transfer on reception. I spoke to someone familiar with the console.net and said that this will happen.

How many line appearances do you have on the DID's? I alwasy set prime to itself, have 2 appearances and set DND busy. It goes right to VM every time.
